When do you think it is going to be available? I am working on a new copter and would rather use an old APM and wait to order the 2.6 instead of getting one more 2.5
Felix: That's correct. (Although 2.6 also rolls up all the small production and component improvements there have been throughout the 2.5 production history, including the higher-capacity fuse and overall reliability)
There will be an official announcement soon. We are going to be including a protective case for the GPS module, but it's not quite ready for delivery yet. Once that GPS case is in stock we will start shipping these new units.
The external compass(mag) helps reduce the chance of EM interference effecting your readings. APM 2.6 has no mag on it, in order to utilize this new external one.

Manuel: Probably by the end of the week.

the only change between APM 2.5 and 2.6 is the lack of an internal compass sensor?
Will be in stock at CanadaDrones pretty soon...
Will still support 2.5 and previous version but will start shipping this one as soon as we get it.
(order placed last week... not sure if I need to wait for GPS cases!)

If I cut the trace on apm2.5+ that I just bought but have not yet received, will I be able to use this new GPS?
