I submitted final revision to oshpark for a board run today

the rest of the parts should arrive this week for the batch in production

Here is a video of the prototype mockup:

The board consists of :

2x 10mm super bright 20ma red & blue led's
 1x 12mm 5v active 89db buzzer module
2x .5watt 330ohm resistors (or 220ohm)

It's also capable of taking smaller smd leds also as the pad/hole spacing matches most types (may require different resistors to correspond with led used)

  • Ahh yeah active is the key, the one for the KK2.0 will work if you happen to have one around

  • NVM I finally realized the key word is "5V Active Buzzer". I was wrongly using a buzzer from a computer and a LiPo alarm.

  • Sweet PCB! Its very clean.

Anyone have issues with the buzzer? My APM buzzer just makes a quiet click instead of a beep. I tested two different buzzers and double checked polarity.

  • The board measures 2.11x0.76 inch (53.62x19.30 mm) in size

    with M4 mounting holes

  • I haven't got any replies to the idea that was made by me yet

  • Have you thought about asking 3dr if they would produce it and sell it in their store ?

  • yeah I would probably want to buy one of these pcb's if you had a an extra

  • I'm working out the logistics for pricing (including shipping for USA & Canada) and a small increase for international buyers

I have someone in the USA that will also handle US shipping & sales if this becomes larger than expected, it was just to learn eagle at first and provide a led solution for a few people & myself, but the onslaught of pm's and email are growing

  • It can be placed on an arm or rear of the aircraft or even underneath, wherever its best viewed for your flying style

I am working on funds to produce a larger batch from http://imall.iteadstudio.com/open-pcb/pcb-prototyping.html

aswel, they have pretty good prices I find

  • Great idea bud. Count me in for one. Any prices for kit and assembled?
