APM Mission Planner now has voice and datalogging!

Another day, another spectacular upgrade of the APM Mission Planner by Michael Oborne. Today's cool new features in v1.09 includes datalogging, so you can record your missions from the ground and replay them for analysis afterwards. No need to download logs from the board itself; just click one button and you can record as long as you want!

Also, speech synthesis is enabled. No need to watch the screen while your UAV is in the air--your GCS will speak to let you know about waypoints hit or other events. This is a lot like the similar feature in HK GCS except you can't define custom phrases yet they way you can in HK GCS (but at the pace Michael's going that will probably be in by next week!).

You can also set the interface to English or Chinese for the growing Chinese APM user group. Note that the manual has also been translated into Chinese, French and German, all by community members! Yay open source!

Just click update in the Mission Planner to upgrade to the newest version, or you can download it afresh here.

Great thanks!

If I can add to the suggestion pile...

Can you make it possible to "remember" the screen arrangement after a resize, both when going from tab to tab as well as after a reboot?

I just updated to 1.0.8 this morning. This new Mission Planner is extremely well laid out and intuitive. Thanks Michael for the work put in to continually give us new features.

Quick bug report: The planner crashes if you hit Play before loading a log in. Running Win 7 x64.

Thanks for the speech synthesis, Michael! I knew that it would be a useful feature.

Hey, this are cool features!!!

But somehow the .kml file reconstruction from logged files is broken!

Its really cool feature ! APM Mission Planner has presently support for MAVLink protocol. It would be nice other protocols are also added like Ardustation so that it works well with Ardupilot as well as UDB.

Guys, just uploaded 1.0.10 - it adds more speech control, and a few log fix's.

Philippe, are you using ArduCopter or ArduPilot?

Michael Oborne - I would like to translate UI to Russian. Where do I start?

Michael: I am using ArduPilot. But I am using 2.10 . Am i the only one experiencing that problem?

Since SVN 371 (1.0.9) it works in Linux under mono again. Yay ! Thanks Michael.

Brilliant stuff! Michael thanks a lot for all the work on this in the last couple of weeks.

I'm sure this will be documented, but for speech phrases you can currently use these strings for the timed interval speech setting which will speak the values of each.

{wpn} for Waypoint

{asp} for Airspeed

{gsp} for Groundspeed

{alt} for Altitude

{mode} for Mode

{wpa} for current Waypoint target altitude
