Hi,I am working in this project, it is a bidireccional RC transmitter.Sometimes, i think than conventional transmitters start to have no sense for uav projectsThis is a proyect with a small board with ARM7 (NXP LPC2xxx) and a Xbee PRO with 60 mW (similar performance than standard transmitter) and a Bluetooth module to connect with a PDA.This board have 9 analog inputs for joysticks, and other controls, battery voltage..., it try to be a whole solution with charger connector for charge transmitter battery and PDA battery...We are working in a graph tool in order to show flight instruments in PDA.jlcortex
Hello Michal!
It was my first idea... I thought in use my playstation console to control my quad but I didn't like this kind of control... it didn't look like intuitive enought for me. I know that some guys enjoy this PS and Wii controls, but the old FUTABA's like and PC-Flight-Commander sticks are the best.
I have a walkera transmitter from a broken helicopter, this transmiters and i have also a e-sky usb transmitter, both sticks are suitable for this design, they are not good quality but i think it could be enought.
another idea is to use spare parts of wfly transmitters, i have a 9 channels wfly and it seems good quality and it can no be expensive.
Hello man, great initiative! Once a tryed to build something similar my FUTABA radio but I didn't find the sticks. The electronic and the case were easy... but to find the good sticks still a mistery. Did you find it? Good sticks are the first step to a good control.

This could be enough for takeoff and landing.
Good luck with the projects!
