I don't think I need to add much to this. Perhaps handles ought to become standard though.

BTW: here is some footage from the waterproof -> then rust copter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQifSFIxjlg&list=UUNVj3iwV6w1SL... -- The fun start at 2:00min -- enjoy, leave a comment, like or subscribe
The idea of a waterproof BoxCopter is indeed nice and it really works quite well (yes i built one) - there is only one big problem that has yet to be solved: The motors are still exposed to the water. This is no pronlem in the first place since they will run fine - even under water.... BUT.... the water (especially salt-water) will eat up your motors. I flew a BoxCopter on the beach for about 1 week during vacation. After that all four (4!!!!) RC-Tiger motors were totally wrecked. The bearings and the stator had been eaten up by rust almost completly ----- and yes i cleaned the copter after ever use in sweet water and let it dry in massive sunlight.
I love it!!! Where can I get a nice Black and Red tool box? LOL
Great video, a lot of fun.
Good to show people what can be done with a bit of thinking outside of the box (really lends itself to puns too).
I really like Johannes LockCopter too, here we would call it a TupperCopter of course.
As usual, Flite Test offers some entertaining information. Now I know what I could do with my extra plastic toolbox. However I like the additional functionality of Johannes' lockkopter design. That said, in both cases I usually want to know how much time and money are needed for repair after different kinds of crashes. Some designs are more expensive than others to own and operate. Lots of tradeoffs to consider, given what you want to do with the quadcopter. :-)
Nice! Some more pictures on how the arms are fixed would be nice
But is it foldable, swimming and waterproof ;_)
