ConfigTool v1.4.12

I dropped the "Beta 4" and changed it to just v1.4 revision 12 = 1.4.12.This version has a bug fix to try and address users with locales using "," (comma) as their decimal points. Please let me know how it works. It also includes Jordi's 48 waypoints fix.Download Here: ConfigTool.zipArduTool143.gif

  • @ Mike W - I'm going to add a max distance to the Totals box as well as a current distance from home to plane on the emulator. Can you tell me why you'd want to hide the totals box?

@ Mike Davey - Have you downloaded 1.4.8? The error appears to be in the cmdClear_Click function which I jumped over in 1.4.6 (I think it was) if not conencted. Please make sure you've downloaded again.

@ Sarel P. Wagner - I'm under the impression you have to pay $300-$400 to Google for the real-time KML file usage (recent change in the last few months). Is this not the case?
  • Exporting the planned mission in .GPX format may do the trick, or KML type or some such.

  • Happy,

Stellar work, we are forever indebted to you for this. Is there any way to get the planned mission to display in GE when you fly the mission in real time so we can see the actual vs planned? Especially with the height above ground indicated by pillars between the 3D waypoint and the ground?

I did a little testing on the unhandled exception I'm getting. It happens anytime I click the Read button, but it only happens when I have no network connection. I've tried loading in a mission first, but it still happens. If I have a network connection it works great. The exception message happens right away when I click the read button, the progress bar has not started yet. Run in XP Pro. I have the text from the error message in the link below. I have had this issue with all the versions other than Jordi's first version, so I keep that around when I need to do a read at the field.

  • Hi !

Great job done by you !

    Keep high enthu ! :)

  • Hello !

Congratulation to the developpers of this applications, it's a very nice job !
I'ld to know if I can try to modify the source code of this application ? If it is possible, where could I find the source code of it please?

I've found 3 things that may be changed : the Map Zoom Level (on the left) don't change when we use the scale on the map. And could we center the map on the Home point ? And the last, is it possible to save the Map Zoom Level in the header of the txt file created for the missions ?

Thank you for this great tools !
  • Hmmm...

    1. That should be working.... or at least is used to. I see it doesn't now, that's a bug.
    2. I can look into that. Why would you want to disable it?
    3. Farthest Waypoint should be easy too... I can just cycle through all the waypoints and determine which is farthest and display it in the Total information box.

    4. Not sure this one is possible. I'd have to query a line between the "Home" position and each possible plane location... and then determine what the approx altitude would be at that location.... it would be a math nightmare that would be totally nullified by wind. Interesting idea.... not really possible to implement.

Thanks for the ideas (and bug reports) though, keep them coming!!!!
  • Happy,

I havn't checked out your progress for a couple weeks and I gotta say I am really impressed!!
I would like to suggest some improvements for your next version to consider:
    1. Ability to drag and drop waypoints much like you can drag and drop the home waypoint.
    2. Option from drop down to enable or disable Total Mission Distance information.
    3. Option from drop down to enable or disable Farthest Waypoint/Distance from Home (for radio coms)

Also perhaps I can work with you to develop an algorithm where the program can tell the user if the plane flies behind line of sight (say if altitude is set too low and you fly behind a hill). Please let me know if you are interested!

And again thanks for another great product!
  • New version posted... I couldn't find the unhandled exception error. If you can tell me the button clicks to duplicate the error, I can work on it. Thanks Mike.
