Don't pick on Dean for such an obscure slang reference...
I doubt there would be more than 3 people in North America (and South for that matter) who would know what "rashers" means (or would care!)
The link goes to Wiki for Bacon. I know what bacon is. Why throw in the word "rashers"? What does that have to do with anything?!? Also, asking originally if I came down with "rashers" doesn't make any sense inthe context of bacon. Were you asking if I came down with bacon? "Coming down" with something means getting sick.... OK I'm really trying to stretch here: you were asking if I had swine flu?
My favorite comment from Dean:
"These things are difficult, like Masters or PhD thesis level work, so don't kid yourself that it is easy. Have passion for it. If you are so determined to make something happen that the thought of it not working out makes you very unhappy, then you WILL find a way to get around ANY barrier, including lack of knowledge. Just because you don't know how to do something is the WORST reason for not doing it! "
IMHO, advice like this is just as valuable as sharing code!

I knew I had swine flu because I came out in rashers.
Over here bacon rashers are these
Fancy being so clever and not knowing what bacon rashers are!!
You colonial types really ought to use the correct dictionary.
I can't believe I put a wiki reference in there, still must be true if its in Wikipedia
