and as per specs , Hitec 2.4 radios have lowest latency if my memory serves right , however the Rx looks more like toy ( very colourful :) IMO)
  • Tell me why Futaba prices are so high when HiTec sell the Aurora 9 for so little?

BTW. I highly recommend the HiTec. There may be no park flier sized Rx for it tho.

BTW that is review for Frsky 2.4 Rx which I guess is same as some other names under which it is offered. The production ver is now being offered few days back.

I would agree with you on that Sgt , but lately after seeing many of these clones and their prices , I started seriously doubting branded Rx prices , in any case can you garentee you will never crash with branded Rx? Crash is crash , most of the time we blame equipement failure or some thing else , I have honestly seen my own radio glitch ( JR 35 Mhz ) due to Other Non RC interefrence only 3 times in last 15 years and never with 2.4 ghz( though I have never used any of these clones ) but I am going to test one of these sooner or later. For serious UAV I will use Futaba 72 or JR 2.4 (with Thomas UHF LRS soon). For any thing flying which cost me less than 250$ total , I use normal 2.4 spectrum or 72 Mhz but that might change soon...

True (and I've done alot of that), but you can take precautions...
and the radio is one place I am not willing to skimp!

You have gotta crash and burn sooner or later!

    Just a thought.

  • Let's look at the good point: perhaps this will drive the crazy receivers prices down!
I use an original Spektrum 6200 receiver on my Quad (in which I have invested many many hours) but a clone on my $50 foamy. A simple question of how much risk I'm willing to take.
  • Whats the point in arguing about it? This post is starting to run wayward. If you don't approve of the so called "clones", then don't by them. However, students like me trying to excel in this type of hobby need a break on huge prices from brand names.
  • Just to remember: the I2C protocoll originated by Philips is supported by many under different names.
