@Hein & All, I'm currently on a trip and one of my destination is factory that we have been working rather long with these cameras so cannot post videos/pics yet as dont have them on my travel laptop. I will be back at my office in Bangkok on Monday. After that I can post some examples. On our tests it has been rather quiet,
And it also have changeable lens so you can use narrow/wider lenses as you please. Estimate price range will be less than 200 USD for it. Also if we need software changes in future for that camera, I have direct contacts to SW development group so talking with them is a lot easier that with other big players who usually don't want to listen customer feedback
Damn, just brought a pair of GoPro 2's two weeks ago....! Typical of my luck at the moment!!
They still carry that fisheye effect? when will gopro learn that we don't need this one or atleast make with an interchangable lens....
Amazon has the Hero 2 marked down to $199 today.
@Jani Will your new camera be relatively quit in RF? Do you have a sample of raw video? many thanks.
The 4k@15fps is more for people that are trying to get still images from their videos. Sure, you could watch a somewhat jerky video in super high definition but that's not really what it's been marketed for.
I just pre-ordered the Silver. Wondering if the Black is worth it considering no-one will use 4k@15fps. The only advantages I see are that it seems to be using a glass 6 element lens, and claims 'professional grade' low light performance (v/s/ 'prosumer grade' for silver). Thanks for being vague GoPro.
@Jani, looking forward to seeing what you have. I am in no hurry for a replacement as of yet. The GoPro is a good camera, but for the price it has several shortcomings that prevent it from being the ideal aerial camera for small UAS.
Interesting stuff. Too bad they have stuck with the rectangle form-factor. It works in some cases (chest mounting) but that's about it. Every other camera is more streamlined.
I have been interested in the Sony camera because it has built in stabilization.
As for Jello... I dunno. I can't seem to make Jello. I have had no problems with my quad, and even rigid mounting it on my helicopter, very minimal jello.
IMO, a huge cause of Jello is all the flimsy camera mount designs.
@Todd, if you are not in hurry, wait a bit. We are going to release one camera shortly that is custom designed for FPV etc use. Release will be on this month. I will post deatils to here soon.
