A Beautiful Sunny Day in Dubai !!
This H.A.L Hobby King quad was a joy to build. After fitting all the electronics we tested the CG and when all good then we tested the flying characteristics, we had to tweak the PIDs very little to get the Stablise going fine, Auto trim on CH7 works flawless and we managed to trim it to the finest possible. then by using the CH6 on my TX ( Futaba 14MZ) we couldnt acheive a good result for Loiter we are managing by the laptop ground station. this film was shot the day after we nailed the Loiter BUT its not perfect and we must try tweaking it further for the Loiter. Once we have the final figures I will publish it for H.A.L Hobby King. in general we are very happy with the quadcopter the price and the looks.

I tested it again and again it went!!!! I suspect the battery !!!. the battery is brand new from Kypom that they did it for me under OEM (Our Own brand) . I have a few more and i will test later but we replaced the battery to the original that we purchased from hobbyking i.e. Turnigy 3000 mah tested it and no problem so far but we reduced the time to 6 minutes. so far if the battery works fine i will move back to my Loiter tuning until then i will have to make sure all is well. by the way during the last crash i lost a bit of the legs on one side cut all the 4 legs to equal height and now we have a H.A.L that is slightly shorter than the standar but still going !!! :-) i will keep you posted of any developments.
Will, I am using NTM prop drive motor 28-26A 1200 kv / 250 w and Turnigy Plush 25 amp BEC and props are 8X6
using a 3S batteries 3000 mah and another 4300mah. I am away from the copter I can not download the configs but last night during the loiter test it suddenly came down like a bullet no control at all. luckily as you said before this copter takes a lot of punishment and it was fine. any idea why it went out?. I posted my log file have you seen it?
What are you using for motor/Esc's/Props and battery? And what kind of adjustments have you made so far?
this is the night flight before i fix the Loiter but Stablise is perfect

Leds are nice too!!
thanks Will, last night i fitted all the LEDs and flew at night. it was great. when we climbed up we tested the Loiter and it was asmost perfect. we had no wind at night if i test it a few more times and the results are the same then i move to Auto and test it for auto. and as you said the pilot ( my son) is very fussy the way he lands and fly the copter he really loves this copter ! :-) .
Nice! When you finally do have it fine tuned let me know and I will publish the PARAM file to the downloads section. I have built a few of these, and there great frames that stand up to allot of punishment....(with the exception of the landing gear) Although I am now convinced the Arducopter landing gear can be mated to the sides of the motor mounts for the perfect landing gear setup, although you have quite a pilot there and may not need it!
