Help wanted: great photos for the front page of DIY Drones

3689386621?profile=originalWe're going to be redesigning this site next week, bringing better layout and content categories, and one of the improvements is finally updating the photo on the front page. Rather than Funjet that we're so tired of, the photo box will rotate through a set of photos that illustrate the range of UAVs covered here, from planes to quads to helis, to maybe screenshots of Ground Stations.

 

One of those photos or images can be yours! Please post cool pictures of your UAV or anything else you'd like considered for permanent  front page rotation in the comments below. It's best if you upload them to the site first; if they're selected for the slot, I'll just "feature" them and they'll automatically appear. This site gets a million page views a month. Your UAV can become famous!

 

Last note: the role of that top box is to give newcomers a sense of what amateur UAVs are and what this site is about. So pictures should be clear, well taken (in focus, well lit) and ideally look like a UAV and not just another RC plane.

    You guys can feel free to use any images of my ground station... if you think that fits into the mix....

    I made an Autonomous Ground Vehicle with an Arduino. Much like the ardupilot setup, i could easily do it with an ardupilot if I had one. http://diydrones.com/photo/my-agv?xg_source=activity

    They may not fit into the products you sell but I think my photos show the promise of an open and educationally inclined community that can spur new projects. They're in focus at least. Mini ARM7 quad 1 and Mini ARM7 quad 2.

    May I request that the main header banner be linked back to the home page? Not sure what you can control with Ning, but that would be pretty sweet.

    if you could use flash, possibly for the quads, some of warthox from rcgroups videos. he flies arducopter, multiwii, kk and some off shoots of these controllers and his skills are excellent. or since he shoots w/ a gopro and you don't implement flash, possibly some screen grabs from his many videos since you can d/l his videos in decent quality from vimeo. you can search vimeo for warthox and you will find his videos - and he doesn't hide his errors as he has crash complations too :)
