Just a quick post to highlight Michael Oborne's great work evolving the Mission Planner, which seems to get better with every day! Above you can see the new frame selection screen, which gives a sense of the dizzying variety of configurations that APM:Copter supports.
There's a new desktop icon, too
If you hit CTRL-W, you can see an alpha preview of what will be the new Setup Wizard:
And if you're feeling really brave, play around the with the alpha Swarming interface (CTRL-F). We'll be posting a tutorial on multi-UAV swarming in a few weeks, so I recommend you wait for that before trying it. But it's just a glimpse of how powerful the Mission Planner is. Bravo Michael!

Buggered if I can find the manual calibration now either. Have trawled through all the config pages but cannot seem to find it now, have done it in the past and the wiki references it.

Holy Cow!! That's the most useful thing I've seen here in a month :=) !! I've been cussing this tiny reply box since day one!
I fully agree with other users' frustration on this new interface. It is a regression to user friendliness.
Plus there is an important argument to get back to the old graphical menus and interface : not only is it clearer but also in the sun the old menus give a better contrast. It is gives better visibility.
Why not asking the community to vote on a choice of graphical interface or even better to allow users to apply their own skin ?
For the vote I can provide the tool to allow users to vote online. Let me know.
You shouldn't be. Just grab the lower right comer of the reply box with your mouse and make it as big as you like. Three diagonal lines = subtlety.
MP 1.2.67 has not fixed the dreadful confusion with different Menus Displayed when connected vs Disconnected when pressing the same buttons.
Why is it so difficult to understand that this is VERY CONFUSING even for someone familiar with MP let alone a noobie. ARG )*(^$%
Look at the screen captures above you have NO IDEA which main button I pressed to get to the displayed screen unless I waste time drawing a red box around the pressed button, makes documenting this a LOT MORE unnecessary work
In the earlier MP when you pressed a button, the button icon changed to a pressed button look, when you did a screen capture for a tutorial it left you in no doubt as to which button was pushed to get to that screen
With the new fancy iconed MP one has to edit the screen shot to draw a red box to illustrate which box was pressed WHY ?? is that also too difficult to understand $%#$%
MP 1.2.67 does not react to Battery Monitor disabled, continuing to speak warning until MP Alert is also disabled
Finally, when replying to this thread why am I forced into a tiny 3 line box ?

Rino, please goto help, and do an update. it looks like one of the dlls is the incorrect version
this happens to me too.... If I'm not connected I can open the INITIAL SETUP window, if I'm connected I have the error post above
@ Rino Orlando, that is not normal for MP 1.2.66

Yes it is confusing, if I am not connected and click on INITIAL SETUP, I see Install Firmware - 3DR Radio - Antenna Tracker
If I am connected, I see ONLY - Mandatory Hardware - Optional Hardware. This is not a good idea, very confusing.
