Hi guys - I just released MachUp 2. It's been a long time in the making, but I think it's turned out to be a very useful tool. Features include:
- Quick Geometry Input
- Control Surfaces
- Linear Aerodynamics
- Stability/Control/Damping Derivatives
- Pitch Trim
- Stall Onset
- Loading Distributions
You can see the full feature list at my site: www.blucraft.com. As you probably know, I see a lot of progress that can be made in the UAV design tools that are currently available by way of making them more user friendly and "streamlined" for the industry. If you have feedback or suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Best,
-Doug

seems pretty similar to xflr5, except it can cost up to 6k a year. what, seriously?!
besides the slicker UI, and the integration with matlab at the higher priced bracket, what are the differentiating factors? Looks like your 3d results are still based on interpolated results from a 2d airfoil analysis, albeit your calcs are RANS based, not XFOIL as per XFLR5.
Are fuselage aerodynamics handled in a more accurate fashion? Dynamic thrust calculation and integration into moment calculations?
Looks fancy, but I suspect thats more or less the only "new" thing in this software package. Still seems better to hunker down for a few evenings to get comfortable with XFLR5 or AVL, you'll end up with a greater understanding of stability that way as well.
I'm proud to have helped put this together! Hope it's as useful to others on this forum as it has been to me in my designing.
