Hi Everyone. Above is an intro video to the minimosd. It still needs a tiny bit of tailoring but I figured I would send it out to the community for review. A video series like this could be beneficial for our community to grow in the future. Open to adding on a distributor logo for some help supporting my own hobby/builds.
Of course the video is open to criticism and input. They are compiled from scratch in Adobe After Effects/Premiere.

I was having the same problems with the 'error entering font mode no data'. I switched from my laptop to my desktop and then it worked. Maybe it was the usb voltage and/or driver issues?
I have my OSD working and it is reading data from MAV link, but will not display over video. With camera not connected all is good, but with camera plugged in it will not display OSD?
Any ideas?
@Sandro,
Add my name to the growing list of users who would like to see the addition of a customizable 6 character static line of text. In order to comply with HAM radio broadcast rules we must transmit our call sign along with the video signal at regular intervals (static display would be fine). If your like me and you want to do FPV along with other things you have a limited number of choices for frequencies. In my case I'm using a 2.4GHz Futaba 8FG RC transmitter, 900MHz X-Bee telemetry system. For commonly available video transmitter/receiver sets that leaves 433Mhz, 1.2GHz, 1.3GHz and 5.8GHz all of which require a HAM radio license to operate. In my case I had to choose 5.8GHz because I wanted to use the wireless receiver compatible with my FPV equipment and that only comes in 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz. Since I'm using 2.4GHz for RC Control that rules out that freq.
So It would be great to be able to add this to the feature set for the next revision of the OSD code.
BTW Thanks for a great product and all your hard work!
Regards,
Nathaniel
@Mohd. Yeah, I didn't want to outlay another US$60 for a fix for something I believed should've worked fine at the outset. I just use one UBEC from hobbyking, Sorry can't find the link, but from memory it waas 5A, hobbyking brand, took 2s-6s and output either 5, or 6v, determined by jumper. I run it from the PDB and feeding directly into the APM wih a ferrite ring to reduce noise. I might get a Ubloc though too for higher resolution accuracy, but no hurry.
I'll dig out the actual UBEC when I get back home for you. It fed about .3v more than the ESC, and made the world of difference! Be interested to see what results you get with your UBLOC in combo with some extra herbs ;)
@Owen. yea, i agree..to overcome the issue i use ubloc gps, and it has additional battery on the module,within 20-30 seconds it lock the sats,usually 7sats..never reach 12sats so far..if u dont mind,could u share how can i connect additional ubec to boost the gps performance?how many ubec to use?
@Mohd. Thanks mate, yeah good question. I found the GPS wouldn't get a lock running off the ESC. It needed a little extra power, now I get up to 12 sats easy, and within minutes.
@Owen. Nice video man..i wonder why do u use ubec to power up APM?i never use it, just feed in using esc..
@Mohd. Sure thing, as soon as I get parameters that work for me, I'll be happy to share them. Having a ball though, http://youtu.be/cIf5pLITAQo
@Owen. I have not tested RTL yet but looking forward to. for now i am putting efforts to test for auto landing and way points..if u dont mind,u you share a bit your experience in testing RTL..Thanks bro
@Mohd. Sorry man, it's the only add-on I've resisted buying for it so far, so I know next to nothing about waypoints. Tested RTL last night and my quad landed about a foot under the earth, so got enough to fix for now ;)
