Ning (the social network platform DIY Drones is built on) is rolling out a bunch of new features, many of which we'll be implementing here. Today's is the "Like" button, which you'll find at the top of posts (the comment count has also moved to the top of the post when it's displayed on the front page). You can click it for anything that you enjoyed, and over time we'll add features that raises the profile of content with lots of likes.
There's also a Facebook Like, which will post the like to your Facebook feed.
Coming later this week is a proper professional redesign of the site, which will give it a new look (not radically different, but hopefully cleaner and easier on the eye). A bit wider, too.

Slow to reacte on this one but my understanding is that if I like is = to 1
If I dont like would be =0
That is not enough for those how are inbetween (and this is a large proportion of potentialy new community members)
Wath about adding...
- Relate to my interests
- To far ahead for me
This would provide serious infos on the profiling of new and futur DIY community members and facilitates orientations.
As you guys already use Google for login can use use the Google Reader API for the liking? I frequently view these blogs from Google and think that would be a very useful free tool.
Just a thought
Ok weird, it looks like, if you have already Liked something and click the Like button again, it subtracts a Like...and then if you do it again it subtracts another Like...
Sorry having trouble with my browser refreshing properly. You can subtract your like and the re-add it. it does not subtract more than once.
Like it!
this is what the new arduino forum needs. . . .not that .... karma ¬¬
and yeah, at least half my screen is little grey MQ-9 predators right now :D
