For all of you out there who like the twin boom style of airframe, it looks like Bormatec, the company who makes the Maja airframe has just released a new model call the "Vamp".  It has the same wingspan of 1800mm and similar fuselage minus the tail section.  Features folding wing and tail section.  Here is a pic and the link: http://www.bormatec.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=88&Itemid=91&lang=de

  • I've placed an order for the basic VAMP kit.

I really like that it folds up, thats the main reason why I'm buying it.

    It ships sometime this month.

    Hi all,

Anyone considering the Vamp might want to consider the Polish URSUS: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1325273&highlig...

Unlike the Vamp, it has been flight tested by the FPV community and has a large following on RC Groups (see above). It is definitely not for  beginners, but offers plenty of cargo space for autopilots and FPV gear and comes in two different wing lengths.

    Just a thought.

  • Maya orders already ... think we get in next week ...
    Thanks for your interest ..

    @Adam,

Have you given any thought as to ordering the Vamp before the pre-sale price offer ends on Dec 31? After having just about assembled my Maja, I might give some thought to doing so as I like the way that the Maja has turned out. It is definitely not for beginners and I suspect that the Vamp will be the same too!

According to Borjet's website, the Vamp is using a 30A ESC and a 350watt motor.

I am using a CC 50A Phoenix ICE and a BP 350 watt motor in my Maja as a comparison.

  • I can't agree with that one.
My maja was always really tail heavy, i had a nice Plush 80A ESC and a little bit heavier motor in it, and i had to have my batteries sticking out of the front of the payload bay+ a 5000mah 5s battery as dead weight to just about get it level.
No idea how it works if they now add a tail to it... probably only if you take a real light motor and esc, and then you haven't got the desired power..

  •
Korea was not include shipping ......
Is there any other way ?....

  • Looks nose heavy to me too. Lots of volume up front, but you can't put extra batteries up there and there's only so much space under the wing. Hmm... maybe lots of space to cut out an opening on the side for a camera.

  • Maybe the tail is also heavier than it appears to be.
