3689412367?profile=originalIf you update to the latest Mission Planner (1.05) you'll see a cool new feature Michael Oborne has just added: integrated OSD video! Just select your video input device from your aircraft's camera feed from the Configuration screen (Planner tab) and it will replace the background of the artificial horizon on the GCS, turning it into a heads-up display instead, as shown in the left window above.

Pretty cool, huh? It's a virtual OSD!

Irvin, I don't think two apps can share the same serial port. But the Mission Planner now has speech (update to v1.08) and I think that logging and replay is coming soon.
  • Michael,

    Here is the Planner message:

  • Michael,

Thanks for the super Mission Planner suite of tools.  They work great!

During flight I would like to use HK GCS (because of voltage indication, audio output, logging, etc.) but I would like to have the Planner 'Configuration' window open too.  Inflight adjustment of PIDs makes the tuning process almost easy.

If I connect Planner first - when I connect HK GCS I get no connection and a message: "Access to the port 'COM5' is denied."

If I connect HK GCS first - when I connect Planner I get:

Is there any way to have both connected at the same time?

    Thanks.

  • i only get GPS: 2D Fix ; is that correct ?
  • Only for telemetry (and osd), we don't need 2 way communication. I think that all we want is to receive data on the ground station, not to send some data from the station to the plane
  • Developer
Dimitri, technicly yes. but we require 2 way communication. so no
  • You can certainly use the audio channel of the video transmiter
  • Great stuff!

Any way to avoid the xbees ? Like multiplex the signal into video link maybe ?

  • landijiang, check the latest update in the 'help' tab. It is caused by the Chinese Windows OS.
  • It's cool!!
