New long range module for Turnigy 9X 9Ch Transmitter or other JR Radios.
Long range JR UHF radio system 265 USD
The new UHF RC system is based on Ham band and neighbouring band from 400mhz-470mhz, with the frequency hopping technology and frequency sweeping technology, you never need to worry about losing control of your precious plane.
Have short range trouble? this LRS has a range beyond your imagination. with a bad antenna, you may still get 20km range in the air, and with a super good 1/2 wave length one, you can even get 60km in the air.

I fly a skywalker 1900.
I have this system on a turnigy 9x with stock firmware. I have reached 8200ft + (2.5 miles) at 350ft altitude when failsafe kicked in. Other times it kicks in to failsafe at 3000 ft. It has a lag between stick movement and control surface response that is visually noticeable but has never bothered me in flight. I have only used it on low power mode (1w) and I probably wouldn't use high power with my 1280Mhz video set up. Even with a filter on the UHF and on my vtx I still have to keep the tx antenna in just the right position to avoid interference in video. this is normal though... i also use a frsky 2.4Ghz DJT tx with d8r ii plus rx with a patch antenna on the tx. I have gone out a little over a mile with this set up when failsafe kicked in.
I admittedly have less than ideal rx antenna placement on the plane when using either system. with the frsky i just had the antennae tips pointing out of the edges of the canopy and with the rmilec i have one antenna sticking straight up between the wings and one taped to the right side of the fuse, running parallel to length, pointing towards tail.
it works for my purposes but at some point i want to optimize my set up. the issue is i place my antennas to protect them during transport and haven't found a better way yet.
I think there are people who could get a lot more range. I don't know about 20km but maybe???
if you have suggestions to test I'd be happy to do so and report back!
I know this is an old thread but I wanted to ask if anyone has real experience using this UHF JR Module with the Turnigy 9X? I have a Turnigy, flashed it with er9x and installed the backlight and the 6 position Flight Mode switch. Works great. Have a good LRS is my next step in FPV world.
Thanks for any feedback,
Mike
@user01
Very nice chart.
Let me know if I can help with DMD info.
The specs are very different from the EzUHF, if you can read. 2W > 200mW, no USB analyzer, firmware update etc.
What we have is the ChainLink as cheapest, then Dragon Link, then Scherrer LRS, then ezUHF
TLS/DL/CL are similarly spec'd
ezUHF and RMILEC are both different
See https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AodCPSAvVLOGdGV1djBDUVp0R0... for more information
This can be bullshit, but I like when seller give out so much data.
It can give a false feeling of good engineering but it's better than hiding specs, which I faund nonsense..
Happy to see FHSS and DSS technologies in a longer waves other than 2.4GHz
How this system compares to the EzUHF? Both look similar spec'ed.
Well Crist Rigotti from RCG just got a range 30.4km out and (63.2km) round trip. Not saying it's legal, but it's possible.
1 hour and 40 minute flight.
With no fancy design UAV.
He used the UHF 433Mhz D link with stock antenna as RC gear.
Thread about this flight.
so it's not $265 module for a $53 TX, its a $265 module for a 500$ Tx if you select a JR 9XII
