A carbon case box was added to hobbyking last night for the apm 2.5. Carbon-fiber is conductive and does deflect/obsorbe 2.4ghz so i wonder if this would provide any mag shielding ?

In no universe will that help mag shielding.
It's made up of fiberglass sheet and not CF, I have one by same manufacturer, purchased from GLB, not helping the magnetic interference caused due to running motors.
The only solution is to keep the magnetometer, preferably 30cm high, in the center location of the multi-rotor frame.
I think Jeroen is right, that looks like FR4.
I think it is FR4 it looks the same as the FR4 used in there models (SK450 for example). But both won't help for shielding magnetic.
I can't see how to connect 3DR Radio and GPS, where are the holes?
They had a plastic one too, this is tabbed together carbon plate that is cnc cut. if you look close you can see the weave. I have there go pro mount they just released that is made out of the same. they didn't say it shields or anything just wondering if by accident they may have hit something that may help. back in my traditional help days when g10 carbon started hitting the market there was all kinds of issues with relocating recivers and antennas due to it blocking the signal. so who knows I'm ordering one and will do a mag dev test with and without, for 6 bucks why not?
Where does this say it's carbon? Looks like plastic.
