http://www.supercircuits.com/Security-Cameras/Specialty-Security-Cameras/RCCAM1?cmpid=136Sorry about the commercial post. Not my company, not affiliated with them in any way.The specs: 3 inches long, by .75 inches wide, weighing in at less than .75 ounces.I'm super-poor, or I'd be trying to pick one of these up (eventually to modify for pan and tilt). If anyone does pick one up, I'd be interested in hearing how stiff the camera head is.
Unfortunately it has been too cold (slightly above freezing) and windy here in North Texas to be able to conduct some meaningful range measurements. I will have Dec 18th through Jan 3rd off from work and I hope to be able to get some testing in during that time period weather permitting. Sorry!
If you live in the USA, 1.3 GHz is not a legal frequency. I have built the DPCAV 5.8 GHz 100 mw transmitter and so far so good. The area that we fly in has little in the way of large obstructions so we can get acceptable performance with 100 mw and a diversity receiver setup.
@ Thmas, I was thinking about 5.8 too , two things were not in favour , price and power( I am used to having in 5,10,100+Watts LOL ) , price of the 100mW stinger and nano series are still much higher than other combo package. But diversity ( oracle) controller is some I want in goodies bag too :) , found one vendor for around 136$ and has 800mW 1.3 Ghz version too. What do you think?
What about 5.8 GHz? I have two 7 channel 5.8 GHz receivers and an Oracle diversity switcher. Using diversity, I can get away with a 100 mw 5.8 GHz transmitter and have acceptable range and video quality for now. The higher powered 5.8 GHz transmitters will come down in price eventually.
@sgtRic , I was trying to avoid 2.4 Ghz , & 900mhz for video, the only other option there was 1.2 and 1.3ghz , since GPS is on 1575.42 MHz (10.23 MHz × 154) called L1; and a second at 1227.60 MHz (10.23 MHz × 120), called L2,
using 1.3 Ghz would avoid saturating GPS onboard !! Using Ublox with Sarantel ant would make it ok was my understanding.
If nothing else may be 432 Mhz would resolve it.
@ Thomas, Thanks for letting me know that. They were very tempting. I am trying to find cam with specs like
SONY 1/3 CCD , 450L or more res, 0.5 lux or lower , x-View CCD or super HAD CCD chip
What about this one and this one?
Alternate samsung chip model is here
or with out bothering should I go for range videos model KX191
Also does any one have any exp with 1.3Ghz video tx and rx ? Thanks for feedback
The cameras on the Super Circuits website are way over priced. I have purchased good quality Sony 1/4" CCD fully enclosed cameras off of eBay for $40 from reputable dealers.
@Roberto,
The web page does not mention any servo motor or even possibility of PT function. The look and description gives me feel that it same as any other mini/micro spy CMOS based camera( pen camera etc) , also it does not have any AV output , so it can only be used as stand alone cam recorder, you cannot use it for FPV type application, but some of the cameras in this site that caught my eyes that have potential are below
Sony color 1 2 pretty good specs but black and white :(
the site has some incredible specd cameras. Thanks for sharing.
