Just a glimpse of a cool project we're doing with Brandon Hurd at OLogic and ETH Zurich using Google's Project Tango 3D-scanning phones with a drone, in this case a 3D Robotics Iris.
The aim is to give U Penn (see below) a little competition, at a tiny fraction of the cost and open source

Did this ever get anywhere? I just picked up a tango sdk and am looking to work through some similar ideas.

They've got controls on Google Glass, autopilots, just wait'll you see what they do with this!!
Project Tango is the next level for autonomous vehicle control. Eyes on-board your UAV is a game changer. I hope Google will make it available soon...
