.

untitled-1_1_3.jpgI ran across this conversion kit on the SteadiDrone web site.

Transfer your existing electronics, flight controller etc over to an airframe with SteadiDrone's 'rapid deploy' folding design and high quality carbon and aluminum construction, add four powerful top end motors and transform your IRIS into a professional aerial rig! With loads of room for extras like FPV, camera gimbals and more, fly SteadiDrone's high performance airframe and you will never go back.

IRIS Conversion Kit Includes:

  • SteadiDrone DASH Airframe Kit
  • SteadiDrone Carry Box with custom high quality foam
  • 4 x SteadiDrone MT3506 Brushless Motors

  • Hey Oscar, the DASH is an all new airframe but sized much the same as the 2013 and 2014 QU4D :)

  • Hey Duran.

I'm curious to know if the Dash frame is the same size and specs as the previous 2013 model QU4D.

I recently discovered Walter & Oliver of  Micro Aerial Projects another  using the older frame w/o front goprp gimbal for mapping.

  • Thanks for posting the recommendation Chris, added them to my wish list.

  • I have a QU4D and being able to fold the arms makes it quite compact for travel.

if you do buy one I strongly recommend  getting the aluminum inner (pivot) clamps for the arm tubes.

  • The DAsH looks very nice. I would love to hear from someone that has done the conversion about their experience and flight time. Thanks.

This is a great idea.   Not really a bash of the IRIS, more of an upgrade/alternative.

  • As Gary mentioned our motors are custom MT3506 T-Motors which offer a very good efficiency and reliability.

  • Hi Zoom,

I am guessing that the Steadi Drone MT 3506 motors are re-branded Tiger Motor MT 3506's and their efficiency is quite high and with 3 cell and 14" props you should be able to achieve significant hover times.

T-Motor is a high quality motor with relatively high efficiencies at potential hover (50%) thrusts.

Check out KDEs multirotor motors as well.

    I consider them the best.

    Best Regards,

    Gary

  • Like the Steadi Drone Frame

But am more interested any improvement in flight times with these motor and diff prop sizes

  • The SteadiDrone MT3506 and 25a ESC offer a pretty huge performance boost compared to the stick Iris, you can google "SteadiDrone QU4D agresive flight" video for an idea
