I'm curious to know if the Dash frame is the same size and specs as the previous 2013 model QU4D.
I recently discovered Walter & Oliver of Micro Aerial Projects another using the older frame w/o front goprp gimbal for mapping.
Thanks for posting the recommendation Chris, added them to my wish list.
I have a QU4D and being able to fold the arms makes it quite compact for travel.
if you do buy one I strongly recommend getting the aluminum inner (pivot) clamps for the arm tubes.
This is a great idea. Not really a bash of the IRIS, more of an upgrade/alternative.

I am guessing that the Steadi Drone MT 3506 motors are re-branded Tiger Motor MT 3506's and their efficiency is quite high and with 3 cell and 14" props you should be able to achieve significant hover times.

T-Motor is a high quality motor with relatively high efficiencies at potential hover (50%) thrusts.

Looks like a cool conversion to me. I purchased the SteadiDrone DASH Airframe to convert my Flame Wheel 450 setup. The folding arms and taller landing gear will be a huge improvement.
Don't mind Thomas. He was born disgruntled with life. Par for the course.
Interesting. I'll have to keep an eye on them. I'd like to see them incorporate
redundancy option for the upper end frames. I love that the arms fold.
I'm pretty happy with Iris. I bought it as my first UAV with the sole
purpose of having a solid bird to learn flying, Mission Planner, and everything
else that goes along with the sUAV procedures.
I just finished testing my aerial mapping mods on the Iris. With the thunder power G8 4400 25C
battery and got 15min of hover time, and remaining voltage sitting at 11v
Throttle is right about 50%, and will hopefully be slightly less after shaving 50g off
with the new lighter arms. The goal to optimize Iris for 10min autonomous missions.
