  • A trick to your airframe

Turn the rear motor DOWN so you can use it as trust in rotorcraft and propulsion in plane mode.

  • to keep it current... http://boeing.mediaroom.com/2014-10-17-Boeing-built-X-37B-Orbital-T...

    yes low earth orbit UAVs....

  • I think is a good idea for a quad with variable pich propellers, Otherwise you will not be able to use the rear motor.

  • 100KM
Very clever way to keep the aircraft sleek. Beats the pants off the Boeing fan design imo.
  • A few words sums it all up "Those Magnificent Men and their Flying Machines" Never ending ways to impress the crowd .

  • The DARPA one looks pretty cool!  I wonder if that is a lifting body they used, and if it works with the large gaps where the prop ducts are, or if the full scale version will have retractable doors to smooth out the fuse when in forward flight.  Either way it looks like it will be going full scale soon.

  • I don't think it is inovative at all. Guys from boeing has it already flying

  • Except the rear motor thrust is the wrong way in the horizontal position.  Make it a tricopter with no rear motor and it would work.

  • Finally an innovative Vtol design came out
