Lefebvre: Huge processor is a relative term. Any ATMega running at 16mhz has the same processing power that we currently have with the APM design, since we at restricted from using the DMP engine in the MPU-60x0 chip at the moment.

  • @Rigel. This is a really nice and compact serial LCD, it has some nice features that make it very easy to use http://cats-whisker.com/web/node/7
  • Someone needs to update the KK with some accelerometers.

  • Yeah, I don't think there can be a huge processor on that thing.  Probably just a KK board with built-in programming screen.  Probably great until you crash and crack the screen. Then what?

  • I was just going to comment it looks like a flight control board with 5 inputs, 8 outputs, programming screen and buttons.  A couple extra pins?????

  • My guess is that this is the HK equivalent of the KK Plus 5.5e + LCD Module  package - see here.

The buttons will likely be for choosing menu items and entering settings via the LCD  (no pots on board ).

Interestingly the piezo gyros of the earlier HK board seem to have been replaced with MEMS IC's and possibly we have support for octo-copters also given the number of output pins on rhs.

I wonder if there's a PPM input there with the 5 sets of inputs on the lhs ?

    Looks good !

I think that is the same size as the monochrome OLED used on a product at work, so take a look around those.

I'll try to remember to take a look at the markings on ours when I'm back in the office.

OLEDs is better anyway as the contrast is so much higher and there's no backlight, much nicer when flying in the dark or in sunlight.

  • I've been trying to find a small LCD that size on a breakout board.  Any idea where I could find one?
