Please note that I've added Huddle Workspaces to the site, which I hope will prove useful for the volunteer teams working on various ArduPilot projects. I'll be PMing those who responded to our call for volunteers and giving directions and assignments in the next day or two, but in the meantime, what do you think of Huddle? Is it appropriate for our purposes? (It seemed the best of the available Ning apps, but I don't know much about workspace software and haven't used Huddle before). Let me know if it looks good or not, and I can then get us going.
I'm going to focus on apps that are integrated into the Ning platform (which is what we use here) for now; the more we can leverage our existing IDs and site, the better.
I was disappointed yesterday at what seemed to be a viral spread of the app...meaning I was unable to opt out, and it seemed that pure curriosity was driving most of the "sign-ups".
I think the snag with Huddle is it works really well if you pay for all the bolt ons, I see they have just started mentioning conference calls, I'm guessing Google waves will have that out the box, have the Whitehouse not been using it for a while?
The purpose of "workspaces", as I understand them, is to be able to do both in the same context. But I agree that each project should have a vision, which will be my responsibility to initiate (but then quickly turn over to the relevant teams to develop).
I've turned off the workspace notifications in latest activity. Google Docs is also offered as a Ning app, but I was concerned that it didn't have enough communications features for full project management. It's really oriented around docs, and we'll be working on code, Eagle files and task lists.

I wonder how quickly news spreads on the web loads of sad sacks begging for an invite ;-)
