  • Can't wait to try out a set of RFD900+'s!
  • The 915mhz used by these radios is 100% because it falls under frequency hopping. Totally different than standard 915Mhz band (ie 915Mhz cannot be used for FPV while it is fine for a frequency hopping data link). Can link the regulation article for reference if anyone wants clarification.
  • Anyone interested in another sydney meetup? FPV racing ?

  • Yeah use the 3dr 915 on the iris+ and the rfd900 on my planes both work really well.
  • 915 is the way to go. You can only legally use 433 up to about 25mw but 915 in these types of frequency hopping radios can be used up to 1W without a license. The 3DR radios are only 100mw but it means you can use it at full power without worry.
  • Hello everyone,

I'm planning on ordering the Iris+. What frequency do I need to choose? 915 MHz or the 433 MHz?

    Thanks.

  • Hi All,  selling m 3DR 2014 X8,  its done about 3 hrs since new if that. It has FPV kit,  3 Lipos, gimble.  Its listed here on gum tree.

  • Hi Everybody

I just want to put it out there to the members in WA that I am available to help , assist & build UAS , This will help me to improve my skills and produce a better product for the future.thanks , Look on my profile for contact details

  • Does anybody know of any UAS manufacturers in Australia, preferably WA.

We are looking for a company to build us a UAS (multirotor/groundstation etc.) that will give us the capability to do mapping/photogrammetry, and remote inspections in the mining and construction industry.

We are a small start up at the moment, so a modest budget is what we have to start with right now, so we were thinking about something like a tarot hex frame, with big props/motors, and pixhawk as the flight controller.

Personally I have experience in building/flying/crashing quads over the last 2 years, and I could definitely build this platform myself, but we want a professional looking system to represent our professional outfit.

We are currently going through the certification process, and would expect to be complete by the end of this year, so training on a new system is required in the very near future.

    Please PM me with details.

Splash drone modification

Hi I'm new here from Melbourne, I bought a splash drone fishing drone. It was ok never flew quite as nice as my old phantom 3 ever did. Anyway it run out of battery 350m out to sea and took a load of water and everything is toasted. It does turn on but won't arm. Im thinking of gutting it but motors and the drop mechanism and putting a custom drone internals Now I literally have no idea where to begin with this. All I need is 500m range and GPS return to home and a trigger for drop mech . I…

Freelancing

Hi guys,I've been into drones for a few years as a hobby, and recently got a Mavic Pro.  I've posted a few pics & videos on my facebook & instagram, and I've been really surprised by the number of friends who've asked me to do work for their businesses.I work full time so droning is still a hobby, but I learn more everyday, and I reckon there have to be hundreds of others out there like me who'd like to make a bit of money on the side.So I've set up dronetaskr.com.au - it works like…
