Hello,I bought an Iris+ with the gimbal, Black Pearl FPV and a GoPro in 2015 and used it to take a video of my farm.--After the initial activity in 2015 (my first experience with a drone), I was busy with other things, so the drone sat on a shelf (in it's case). In 2017 I brought out the IRIS+ again, and discovered online that 3DR was out of business-- and I could no longer get parts--so I thought I was just totally out of luck with this drone and put it back in the box.2022: I got out the…
Read more…well today just wasn't my day.I wanted to video some today of a lake near here that is soon to be refilled after the dam was replaced for the 2nd time. I preflighted my IRIS+ and even flew it around the yard some, it operated flawlessly. so i got ready and went to the lake. I put in my battery, waited for the IRIS+ to give the green light.i took off, flew around the perimeter of the lake some, and then headed offshore ( no water yet, just the streams ) i get about half way over the lake and…
Read more…I have an Iris + using a Spektrum satellite and DX9 radio. I can only get the Iris to arm and motors run when the Iris is connected to my computer via USB (plus with LIPO plugged in of course). If I go through this procedure without the USB cable attached, The Iris will initialize, LED will blink green, safely button pushed, stick right down on radio, LED changes to yellow and alarm goes off. It will also turn from blinking green to yellow without attempting to arm if I just leave if for a short…
Read more…Took Iris out for some flights yesterday and still flies great. But the USB port on my GoPro 4 Silver seems to have failed for charging and data transfer... but strangely still worked for Iris+ FPV. So the battery is dying and who knows how long the FPV will function even if I get an external battery charger.Question: are there any other cams that are compatible with the Iris/Tarot setup? I am reluctant to get another GoPro 3 or 4 since they seem to have fragile USB ports... and I don't…

Does anyone know what FET is on the IRIS ESC? I have one motor down, looks like 2 FET's up in smoke :( This comes after I soldered a motor lead to the board, I think there may have been excessive heat causing a short maybe. Reading the case I can see Ior p3226 HTZ6_ F8736 but I cannot find this mosfet anywhere?
Thanks,
Hi, Any help to trigger Canon s100 using pixhawk with distance, I try and see all videos and Can't trigger. I am using a usb cable solder to Efla cable.
thanks for your help
Thank you Phelps!
Damir,
You want to check that the LED in leg is still working before you put it all together again. When an arm is broken it can stress the LED cable. If it needs replacing, you want to do that when you are replacing the arm. It definitely requires soldering skills. You can buy new LEDs at SUPERBRIGHTLEDS.COM.
okay thank you!
i broke the blue arm on the Iris + i have gotten a replacement and i new to this so i was looking for some kind of video or document to explain how i replace the Arm. would anybody know where i can find this information. also i did an firmware and did the re-calibration the Compass and for some reason the Iris + still keep flying in circles! any help would be appreciate!
thank you!
Air in and air out..as finicky as the pixhawk is already is, I would not want to make it over heat!!
2 big holes on the top cover above the battery compartment either side of the red button now filled. I blocked these off on the front only using plastic from a disposable food box and leaving vents on either side. I also added another status light making it rather bug like. Have been flying this for a while and no tempissues so far. See attached image
:-)

Has anyone had issues with props making noise and loseing lift when yawing?
So why 2 big holes on the top cover above the battery compartment, either side of the red button. They are OK and could be used for routing cables etc. but spoil an otherwise nicely designed unit. Is there a reason i shouldn't fill them in?
