alt_hold problem

I've tried alt_hold on a quad w apm 2.5 w firmware 2.9.1

As I switch to alt_hold the quad shoots upwards

Do I have to change something?

What is the cause?

(there was no sonar on the quad)

(the gps is an UBLOX)

    Where is your throttle in steady hover?

    If it is above 50% then there is your answer.

    Have you enabled IMU in logs and checked your vibration levels?

    That will also effect hover.

    When you switch to altitude hold can you lower the throttle to stop the climb and hold altitude? If yes, you may need to change throttle mid parameter. It's normally set at 500 or 50%.
  • the quad shoots upwards from a certain heigh(to which I fly in stabilize) not from the ground ofcourse
