Would someone be kind enough to tell me if I have gotten the connections right between my Spektrum AR8000 receiver and the APM1 board? Please note that..
1) On this rx the ground pin is on top
2) I have used a white dot code to facilitate inspection of the connections so you don't have to try and trace the wires.

Have you figured this out yet? I have the same setup and would be happy to help if I can, though I'm new to this. Not sure if it makes sense, but I have my power connected to AUX 2.

Was it correct on the lowest pins? Did you manage to connect the power in, on a different location to the BND/DAT?

I also initially tried using an AR8000 with my APM 1.4 and I had endless problems. Once I switched to an OrangeRX 9ch (a Spektrum clone receiver), it worked just fine. You can get them from Hobby King.
plug the power into TRO
You need BND/DAT to bind with yout TX and to get LOG Data with the Spektrum logger
