GCS problems

I am having trouble getting any GCS software to run on my new mini notebook. I bought it basically to use for a GCS. I have got the LV Run time engine installed and running.  I had to buy windows 7 home premium in order for labview to work. You get what you pay for ($298). Any way, when I start the GS it says "cannot find Lab View Run Time Engine". Is there a path in an ini file or something?
On my big computer the Jordi's old GS works, but not the new one. On the notebook none of them run, all for the same reason.
Any ideas?  Thank's

  • I am glad you got it resolved :)
  • All is well now. I shut the computers off for a while and cut the grass, ect. When I came back, I read Chris's reply and was encouraged, and tried it again. The GCS software was not on my new netbook. I must have been running it off the flash drive!!! DOH!! Setting up a new computer from my regular computer has got me window fatigue i guess. Some times it's the obvious things right in front of you that you cannot see.
    Thanks everyone.
  • Hi Greg and Leonardo,
please follow the instructions on wiki for GCS
    http://code.google.com/p/ardupilotgcs/wiki/GettingStarted

and make sure you follow the links for correct components(i.e Run Time for LabVIEW engine etc.)

If you still have problems report back and we will figure it out
  • Hi Greg,

Have a look to see if you've installed the right run time engine. Check if you've installed the right run time version and also if you've got the bigger executable from lab view website (there are two downloads of each labview runtime - a smaller and a bigger - get the big one).
I can run the GCS in my Windows 7, although it does not work properly for me due to I can not select the serial (com) ports in the GCS options. For me it just works under Windows XP.

    Regards,
    Leonardo
