The description for these propellers are 12x45. Does this mean that the pitch is 4.5" ? I feel like a 45" pitch is unrealistic.

Yup. Pitch is usually measured as length instead of angle. Sometimes the number's don't make sense - like 12x45. Just insert the decimal where it makes sense. Not sure why this is the case. Chinglish translation?
