Multiwii Scarab Y6 copters have a 3 degree "twist" on their motors. Dihedral is now popular on flat hexas/octos and quads (not sure about x8 coaxial).

So I'm wondering if there are advantages to angling the front motors on a Y6. I know it's been discussed, but nothing concrete from what I could find as to whether the pros outweigh the cons.

How would Pixhawk respond to such a modification from the standard Y6B frame parameters?

Has anyone tried it on their Y6? I installed Kylin motor mounts on my Spy 750 and will need to set the motors. I'd like to try angling them but not if disaster results.

  • Crickets, crickets, crickets...  Guess no one has anything to say on this subject.  I'm interested in knowing the answer to your question, but I don't know of too many people utilizing tilt-rotor or tilted rotors at this time.
