Hello everyone

I am new to this field and I would like to ask about the right platform that could be used according to the devices I am using:

I am using a OSX

PIXHAWK

Taranis plus transmitter

X8R receiver

and trying to arm a Hexa copter

What's better to use  APM Planner 2.0 or Mission Planner ?!

And what version is better????

because I used the latest APM planner but found some issues with configuring the 3d accelerometer calibration !! If any one know how to do it please let me know.

when I reach to that step I got a 40s decreasing and then a message says (Failure CMD 241 )!!

SEE THE ATTACHED FILE

Thanks

  • I built my first quad last month (flamewheel 450) using Pixhawk and Mission Planner 1.3.36 running on Windows 7 and had no problems with the configuration or calibration.  Everything worked as advertised.

If you go APM Planner 2.0 config view and select preAC3.4 compatibility mode and then restart APM Planner 2.0 it will work.

    • Thank you Bill , it works now;)

  • The PC version allows to plan auto missions (like the ones for surveys) or auto flights like circle.

This is the main difference. I don't why the developers don't implement exactly the same functions in the two OS apps.

What you say makes perfect sense to have the same or similar features. The main issue is having time to implement them. Unless people invest in developers time, feature take a long time to implement.
    • I would pay my fee for it. Maybe a poll could lead to a faster development.

I'm the lead developer for APM Planner 2.0. The main issue is time, and finding enough spare of it to add new features.

    • Hello Bill, why don't you make a poll asking how many would pay for this implement?

Maybe you can find enough funds (maybe also using Kickstarter or Indiegogo) to hire another engineer and make the job.
