  • No Drift Checklist in Stabalize Mode with no wind:

    1. All radio subtrims and switch trims to zero or neutral and leave them there for ever.

    2. Redo the radio calibration with extreme stick positions found moving the radio sticks at a snale's pace.

    3. Balance the props, check for true at the tips and motor shafts perpindicular to copter motor plane.

    4. Securely attach the AMP to the copter frame (no Velcro)

    5.  Precisely level the copter arms on the first step of the Calibrate Accelerometers (not the APM or center section itself).

    6.  Use auto trim procedure in the Wiki.  Read the Wiki carefully so this gets done correctly.  You may have missed this step

    7. After each new power up but before arming the copter, the copter must be still (level is not required just absolutely still).

After a crash, repeat 3 through 7 above. Voila - a copter that drifts very little if at all above ground effect altitude and in no wind conditions.

  • Have you trimmed the copter for level flight?
In mp you can set channel seven for auto trim

  • I would check the level using Mission Planner and see if it is favoring one direction or another.  Also, you could try running level from the command line in Mission Planner or run through the calibration setup, but be sure that you are on a level surface while doing that.  Lastly, be sure that the copter is level when you are attaching the battery as that has caused me trouble in the past.

  • When you start up are you on level platform?
