  • Thank you Bo Wingo! This is exactly what I need.

  • Take a look at the "AC3.1 & blown 3.3V regulator" blog post to understand the issue of the blown 3.3V regulator and how AC3.1 uncovered the issue.  This information should also help you zero in on identifying whether this is actually what happened to your hardware.

  • @John McGrath and others. I am curious about the regulator that has been mentioned. Do you have a location on the board or schematic? I ask because I bought a used APM 2.5 and have had issues with it concerning updating to 3.1. I'd like to replace mine and see what my results are.

  • Guys if you have a bad regulator why not fix it? Most are all DIY types on here get a soldering iron (low wattage) and replace it then get the better update. If mine was blown thats what I would do.

  • So i went back and installed 2.9b and the same thing occurred bad gyro health prearm health bad on the flight data page and i cannot arm the ESC's funny it all worked prior to updating to 3.1 is there a way to fix it ? not going to purchase another APM any help appreciated.

  • Hi Sean

Yes i see that this is a common problem after updating to 3.1 i would think that 3dr would take care of the issue guess not.

Thanks for the information i am going to try and go back to previous 2.9

  • I had the same problem, likely a blown regulator. seems a pretty common problem. In the "load Firmware" section of mission planner there is an  option at the lower right side that says "load previous firmware" or "load previous version" . You can find version 2.9 there.

  • hey guys

Is it possible to go backwards in version say from 3.1 back to 2.9 my apm worked in 2.9 but came up with a problem in 3.1.

    Thanks

  • Thank you all; I have making some progress towards my project while reading your inputs

Drone flying to non visible point

Hi there,I encountered a problem, while flying in auto mode, with approching to point that was not set by trajectory and is not visible after downloading mission from flight controller by Mission Planner. Does anybody encountered similar problem. The situation is that in the middle flight I stopped the UAV and uploaded new mission and after changing to auto mode it starts to fly in some direction. It goes straight to some point, so I assume it's not mechanical problem. I attached the link to…

Will AHRS_ORIENTATION=8 for Arducopter 3.2.1 on APM 2.5 using a traditional Heli

I have been Reading Chris Olsen posts and watching his videos on Arducopter with traditional Helis using a Pixhawk.I have inherited an older Trex 450 heli with the old Align 3G FBL hardware.  The FBL controller appears to be bad.  So I have an old APM 2.5 without a compass or GPS on board.  I just want to replace the failed Align 3G FBL system with the APM.Now I have to mount the APM under the skids on the heli so the APM will be upside down.I have Two questions.1)  Is the AHRS_ORIENTATION=8…
