Geofence for learning how to fly IRIS

Hello,

Is there any way DroidPlanner2 would be able to create a geofence with boundaries (say a square of 200x200 feet), but also with a minimum height (say 50 feet), so that when it crossed the geofence, it would switch into loiter mode?  This would be great for situations when you are instructing your friends on how to use your IRIS, you wouldn't be worried that they would fly it into a tree or into the ground.

Thanks!

  • Why wouldn't you adjust the existing geofence?

It doesn't allow for loiter at present, but could be worked around.

Or only let them use the right stick in loiter mode ;-)

    • Thanks for the reply Tim.

Nice -- that would be great if you only allowed right stick control once IRIS breached the minimum altitude fence.

Also -- it seems that the geofence only allows a perimeter that is based off of your current position -- e.g. 200 feet from the distance where you initialized your drone.  What if you could designate that location 150 feet in front of you so that the person training could fly forward, then have room to practice.

    • Sort of a "moving" perimeter so to speak? As you move, the radius of the geofence moves along with you.
