  • My generic does exactly the same and it works fine.
  • i was updating the FW on an older Pixhawk clone (generic pixhawk)  and i got this message :

    You are using unsupported hardware

this board does not contain a valid certificate or authorization

please contact hardware vendor about signing your hardware.

After that the new FW loaded like normal should i be concerned about using it ?

also im wondering if from here on out misson planner wont work with Generic pixhawk ?

  • Camera control modes -  Can someone point me in the direction ( sport the pun ) of how the camera control modes work on the PH? As far as I can tell if you set a ROI in MP the PH points the camera at the ROI by pointing the whole aircraft at the correct heading while using an absolute position setting to set the tilt offset of the gimbal. If you want to set a 'heading offset' this can be done by the PH sending an absolute position, left or right of centre to the gimbal.

    Is this correct?

I understand I can also feed through an additional signal from the RC and have had a little success there ( tilt only )

How do I put the gimbal into ROI mode? How do I switch back out of ROI mode?

    and most interestingly ......

I have a gimbal that is 'rate controlled' ie if the signal is at 50% the gimbal stays here it is. If the sgnal is under 50% then the gimbal pans left and over 50% it pans right. the more left or right of 50% the faster the gimbal moves but until the signal is returned to 50% the gimbal will keep on tracking. Can the PH be set to use this kind of gimbal? ( I suspect not as the PH has no feedback of the gimbals position so I will need to chase the manufacturer for an absolute position mode firmware update! )

  • Thanks for the heads up Darrell :) Be well mate.

  • @Steve -

HobbyKing has GPS mounts in the Australian warehouse that look like they would work fine.

  • Anyone aware of any places in Oz selling GPS masts suitable for a Ublox GPS compass module in please? I Googled my brains out but only got hits at Rise Above and it was a back order item out of stock, and somewhere else in Asia. Theres got to be more around surely, I'd imagine guys would be snapping these quite often, especially after watching newbies bend their Quattro X's last week LMAO "Why did it fly into that tree so fast?" "What do you mean 'CALIBRATE THE GPS' and what manual?

Scene 1: all smiles Scene 2: searching the steaming debris field for surviving components. Scene 3: Its safe to wind the windows down now kids!

A hyper kink to the GPS masts would be just dandy thanks peeps :)

  • hightechhobbie,

Curious to know what FW you are running and can you upload your parameter file as well?

You have an interesting issue.  I start all mine in Auto with TKOFF_THR_MINACC = 3 and TKOFF_THE_MINSPD = 1.  I check everything first in FBWA, then switch to Auto, give it a forward motion jerk without letting go and the motor spins up to full, give a little upward toss, and it goes to work.

Happy to compare your params to the params I am using.  The FW on the Aero is 3.1.1.

    Cheers!

  • I have in the past had many issues with 'plane' trying to get things right regarding the throttle because it seemed without the plane actually moving it will not throttle up. While I can understand the safety aspect of that it was very frustrating to me as someone who did not readily have a flying field teasel text things. It would have been very helpful to have a param to disable that just to double check it would correctly throttle up as expected. If there already is this ability I haven't found it. One time I spent of an on over a week trying to get the throttle in auto mode to move the right way.I know this seems crazy but I finally gave up and installed a servo reverse cable. It wasn't just me. Using AMP Planner and 'Plane' it was impossible to get it to work correctly any other way.

  • Ok, help me understand this.

"i takeoff in stabilize mode. then when i gain some altitude i put it into auto mode to run my mission. the plane then heads in the direction of the first waypoint but it has no throttle."

The way I reed the last post, you're plane loses throttle when you switch to auto? The plane starts to descend? ... you then try to compensate Pixhawk's lack of throttle with throttle via RC?  If that's the case, I have nothing.  Throttle via RC while in Auto shouldn't work.

How I read it yesterday, when on the ground, you can arm & throttle up with all modes except Auto... hence the assumed reason for takeoff in Stabilize.  If you're trying to throttle up for Auto launch, then TKOFF parameters would be the ticket.

Since you say it has nothing to do with Auto takeoff tho... I'll bow out of this one ;)

  • hi Chris, it has nothing to do with auto takeoff.  i takeoff in stabilize mode. then when i gain some altitude i put it into auto mode to run my mission. the plane then heads in the direction of the first waypoint but it has no throttle. when i switch back into FBWA or stabilize , the motor then works normal under my command

Flashing in Pixhawk

Hi everyone,Recently I've got my first pixhawk CUAV v5+. I'm amazed to see one thing that through one USB port only we can flash code and read the logging data. To understand how is it working I started looking schematic but didn't understand anything. Can someone please tell how is that working?
