Hi

I'm thinking that Joystick more or Manual Mode would be the way to do this. I'd like to fly the quad, have the flight path captured and saved so that it can be reloaded and used again automatically. Are there tutorials or more directions available for using the Joystick or Manual modes? If those aren't the ways to do this, would UgCS be capable using other its facilities?

Thanks...

  • Hi Mike,

No, there is option in route "Parameters" menu - "Duplicate route".

  • Thanks Jonis

"You can also duplicate route, and change drone for route copy"

Would this duplicate/copy of a route be created by exporting the original route to KML and then importing it into the new route?

    Thanks...

  • Hi Mike,

You can change drone in route Parameters in existing mission. If you have created and tested mission with Mavic 2, select route Parameters, choose Matrice 200, and UgCS will recalculate route for Matrice.

You can also duplicate route, and change drone for route copy, this way, you will have the same route for 2 drones.

  • Would this be done in a new mission, or in an existing mission but with new route?

Thanks Janis, this sounds like it. I'll give it a try.

    Hi Mike,

    1) By clicking "Joystick" or "Manual mode", drone control is passed to Joystick or remote controller. You can perform flight manually, flight data is stored.

    2) Replay stored flight in Telemetry player, export flight to KML.

    3) In Mission planner create new mission, choose exported KML file in  "Import from file" option, perform import. Mission planner will create mission from telemetry export.

  • Hi

I've looked at Telemetry player, I'm not sure that's what I was thinking. In watching this UgCS video:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sXaDmp_WaQ

JoyStick mode is discussed at about 1:28:30 into the video (Telemetry player is at 1:05:45) and it looked that it could fly with UgCS using the quad's controller (Joystick or Manual mode's?).

So what  I would like to do, is fly my Mavic 2 Zoom (less expensive) quad on a mission, see how it went, then fly my Matrice 210 (much more expensive) quad using the previously flowed flight path. The Mavic would be like a test flight system, maybe done many times, once the path is determined, then use that path to fly the Matrice.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks...

  • Dear Mike,

If drone is connected to UgCS during flight, telemetry data is saved. Saved flights can be replayed in UgCS Telemetry player. From UgCS Telemetry player saved flights also can be exported to KML files. Telemetry KML can be imported as mission, based on telemetry data UgCS calculates new mission. Please, note, such “reverse-mission planning” can result in a mission with unreasonably many waypoints, decreasing the efficiency of flights.

Please provide a more detailed information for you application scenario, so we could provide the best solution for you.
