  • Hello John,

    Thanks for Your interest.

Could You please try creating and running a simple mission containing two waypoints with a distance of more than 15 meters apart.

Let me know about Your success. Also feel free to e-mail me - arturs.kalis@ugcs.com

    • I finally had time and weather to try some things this weekend (1.5 jobs, and going to school 3/4 time).

I've been able to get simple two waypoint missions to work.

I setup a two waypoint mission, with an area scan in between and I got "GCS_Result_unknown"

      Firmware on aircraft is 1.05

Ran out of daylight and time this weekend to get on it further.

    • I am really sorry asking you this question just out of curiosity,

but why do you ask about DJI Phantom drone at DIYDrones forum ?

DJI Phantom is not DIY drone.

Better ask directly at DJI web forum, or via DJI Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, email.

Asking about DIY drone or 3DR drone at DJI forum could give alike result.

    • Hello Jack,

UgCS section of DIY Drones forum is meant for discussions associated with UgCS Software.

Since John had a question regarding Universal ground Control Software, he has all the rights to post it here.

If You have any concerns regarding this, please contact Chris Anderson.

      Thanks for Your understanding,

      Artūrs

    • Reasonable question!

The questions here aren't so much about DJI devices, it is about uGCS working with their PC/Linux/Mac groundstation via their mobile app to the DJI.

As far as I can tell, from uGCS' website - they only do support over a forum - and this is the only one I can find for uGCS. Although Artūrs has posted his email further up. A drawback to doing things through a back channel like that is that it doesn't help others in the same boat.

Group dedicated to UgCS  - Universal Ground Control Software from SPH Engineering.

You can download our software by registering at our website: www.ugcs.com

Support Forum under this group is place where support for UgCS Open (free version) is provided. Our developers and engineers will gladly answer your questions or thank you for bug reports!"

The software is meant to work with many flight controllers - DJI Phantopn 3 being one of them.

I have a Pentacopter partly built that will use a Navio+ with Raspberry Pi for the flight controller, I hope to use uGCS for that one as well, the software is meant to be able to run several birds at once.

    • Ok, but your subject line reads

"DJI Phantom 3 Pro cannot run mission - DJI SDK error message."

but your problem is with UgCS

    • Developer
His question is in the UGCS discussion part of DIYD, I don't see any problem with the question other than yours. DIYD aims to be inclusive.,if you can help, help, if not just move along.
  • Forgot to add that I can connect, see telemetry on the desktop, and run 'Click and Go' to a waypoint where the aircraft will go.
My best guess is the the DJI firmware doesn't like the data format of the missions being passed to it.

      is your contact point

      "

Please follow the instructions in UgCS User Manual to draw the route for the appropriate drone profile (Phantom 2 Vision+, Phantom 3 or Inspire 1). After drawing the route calculate it and after successful calculation upload it to the drone. Two important conditions should be met for Phantom 3 and Inspire 1:  Drone should be in the air;  Flight Mode Switch should be in “F” position (Function Mode)

    • I have looked around their site.

For the free version their site says that a web forum is the only place to get support.

It appears that this is the place? I can't find a link on their site to a forum!

One thing I may not have done... choosing the Phantom 3 profile PRIOR to creating the flight path.

I did figure out the being airborne and having it in 'F', not being airborne was one of the more self explanatory error messages I have seen.

      (GS_Result_Aircraft_Not_In_The_Air)

(GS_Result_Mission_Condition_Not_Satisfied) <--- Rather cryptic but I have managed to get past that one
