UgCS for DJI app

I went and got an android tablet specifically to run the UgCS for DJI app since I am a mac user and run an ipad for everything else with my drones (and realised too late I needed a tablet app to use UgCS, my own fault). Now I try to download the app from the google play store but get "incompatible with your device: no carrier" error. Why would I need a carrier to run the app since it connects to the macbook wifi, not through a celllphone network? I really want to like and use UgCS but honestly this software is making it very hard...

    My first post and apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.

    I have a Samsung S3 working fine with the UgCS app. Does anybody know why my Galaxy Note 10.1 won't show a live view image from the camera in UgCS app when both are using the same version of android 4.4.2?

    I have bought and android tablet also but can't connect to laptop in the field, where there is no internet. The tablet is wifi only and cannot be used as mobile hotspot so I'm trying to create a net from my macbook, but the tablet does not see anything. Can you share your workflow to connect the laptop to your tablet? Many thanks

    Greetings, fellow pilots.  My first post here...

    I am trying to use UGCS on android to control my Inspire 2, as advertised on the website, but the model is NOT available as a selection within the app.  Am I missing something?

    Compatible with DJI’s:

    • Phantom 4 / 4 Pro
    • Phantom 3 Standard / 4K / Advanced / Professional
    • Inspire 1 / 1 Pro / Raw
    • Inspire 2.......

    I have a Nexus 7 tablet with android 5.1.1 but it says that device is not compatible.

It worked perfectly for what I needed and I'm thinking of using it for a dedicated tablet for all my drone work. I haven't had much time to test it with the other apps I use but it worked well with DJI GO and UgCS.

    I'm looking to purchase an Android tablet for UGCS, as my Android phone's battery just isn't lasting long enough. Plus, it turns out I'll need to run two transmitters for my DJI Inspire 1 Pro, one for UGCS, and the other to set focus at mission altitude. What tablet did you get? With so many to choose from, it gets overwhelming. Something along the size of an iPad mini, I think would work best, since it fits nicely into the transmitter cradle.

    Just want to update here with my experience over the last few days. Anton was very helpful with getting the software onto my tablet and assisting with the error messages I was getting. Once I got to the site I wanted to fly with the photogrammetry tool I realised what the "too high" error was about: the change in altitude AMSL between various parts of the site was >100m, so the "home location" altitude was often >100m lower than the area to be flown. This meant that the DJI setting of max altitude 120m AGL would be exceeded, even though the waypoints in UgCS were showing <120m AGL (because the 0m AGL is taken from at the home location). I went into DJI GO and increased the max AGL to 400m and the missions were flown without any problem at all. The aircraft was never more than 120m off the actual ground level, but was almost continually more than 120m above it's home location.

    Once I worked out this issue I found UgCS to be very handy for this type of mission, especially with the ability to run it in the simulator before flying.

    Hopefully this information might help someone else if they have the same situation.

    Anton sent me the apk file and I was able to install the app, thank you for that. Now I get the "altitude too high" error no matter what I do. It's a very frustrating piece of software!
