I thought it was about time to start a U.K group, mainly due to the time difference between us and USA, so members can discuss their issues here and hopefully get the help they require sooner? Also it possible there is someone living not far away from yourself that you could swap ideas with and get first hand help and advice with your project.

  • Cheers Dean - it'd be great to get together some time. Whereabouts in Surrey are you?
    Thanks...

Hey Greg, I am in Surrey so not too far if the traffic is o.k? there is only one other person I know of that is perhaps 7 miles closer..

    The fields look good..

The only place it can be is the props or the motors, start with the props, they are usually the culprit, they will need balancing, once you have done that if it is still there, narrow it down to the motors. Disconnect all of them either at the three pin plug or the esc cables and reconnect them one at a time listening for noise and feeling the arms, once you have found the offending motor or motors you can balance them also if needed

  • Hello. Great to see a UK forum on here. I've never flown RCs before and have just built a hexacopter (3DR/APM1.4) and am trying it out at Wormwood Scrubs. Seems there's a lot to learn but it's great. Does anyone else ever go to the Scrubs as it'd be very helpful to see someone a little more advanced so I know what's normal/expected and what's not! Any other flying areas in West London?

  • edit:

video was from a few days ago, was pretty windy but quad with APM2 seems to take it in its stride :)

  • I've not tried anything since I put the new APM2 in. Hoping to get a chance on Sunday to have another go. Overall I'm happy with the quad. There is a vibration I need to find (you can hear it on the video) but it's a pig working out what it is. :(

Hopefully now the weather is better we can have more time. I was starting to wonder if I should have got a boat instead...

Send me your params and a log file of auto mode, and I will see if I can suggest something to help? even just the param files will give me some idea?

  • meh, one day I'll get auto to behave and see it fly like that :|

Like the tri flying, think I'll build me one of them next.

A Newbie Question

Hello there,Have waited a long time to finally dive into DIY drone construction, but after a few years I wanted to jump into something that I love, but have only experienced through other people.I'm willing to spend sometime and money to do this right, buying parts instead of one ready to go kit; but of course I would like advice.I don't want to get into something too involved too early, as I think caution and going slow to get to grips is probably the best way with these things.Found this…

UK Newbie

Hi all,I am Jason - 42 years old in the Midlands UK.I have been a recreational quad flyer for just over a year - using a flywheel f450 with a go pro - no fpv set up yet.I run my own specialised cleaning business and have done for 10 years but i would like to become CAA certified and i am just about to book the course. I would like to then get a better set up and then slowly start doing some commercial work, probably free at first to build a portfolio before setting about trying to make a career…
