A Stanley replied to Bill Isenberger's discussion What is the largest propeller the 3DR Quad Frame will support?
"Yes this version of the 3DR quad has mounting holes for a gimbal but you'll need an adapter plate.  The only place I've been able to find it is here;

This works perfectly with…"

A Stanley replied to Bill Isenberger's discussion What is the largest propeller the 3DR Quad Frame will support?
"Just a follow up.  By using the alternate mounting holes on the rear legs the frame will accommodate 12" props.  14" props wont work as there is only 2 inches of space between the front and rear props.  I configured my setup as a "V" type frame in…"

A Stanley replied to Frank Al's discussion Balancing propellors and motors
"I had similar issues at first.  Watch this video and start with the settings they used, then tweak as needed.  The windows application still crashes on occasion but much less often if I use fewer sample runs.

A Stanley replied to Bill Isenberger's discussion What is the largest propeller the 3DR Quad Frame will support?
"I have the 2014 Quad X Frame you show in the picture and in the default configuration it only supports 11" props.  There are two ways you can build the frame, "default" as shown on the 3dr.com/learn website or with swept back rear arms.  The new kit…"

A Stanley replied to Frank Al's discussion Balancing propellors and motors
"Update, I've now tested the schematic I drew in Fritzing and it works great! The only change I made was adding a resistor on the lead to the IR diode."

"I finally got everything put together and am testing but I don't think I have the optical sensor correct.  My monitor LED constantly stays lit and the dpb app does not detect the prop (or anything) breaking the beam.  Even if I turn my IR light off…"

A Stanley replied to Frank Al's discussion Balancing propellors and motors
"After asking Frank a few questions I took a shot at creating a wiring diagram in Fritzing.  I'm posting this mostly for comments.  I am a noob and have not tested this yet.  I created this hoping to get feedback before I start building one of these…"

"Thanks this really helps.  I'm not a EE so I only partly understand this at the moment.  Knowing you used a CNY70 is a huge help and though I think the paper ribbon and black dot will be easier to figure out, I'll try my hand at using the IR diode. …"

A Stanley replied to theclam's discussion Pixhawk & Sonar
"Does that mean the 6.6v ADC will work or that Im intitled to ruin my pixhawk if I feel like it ;)  Wasn't doubting you but the (recommended) in the post caught my attention.  Im not experienced enough to know one way or the other. "

A Stanley replied to theclam's discussion Pixhawk & Sonar
"After reading this I got the impression that you should use the 6.6v ADC or one of two pins on the 7 pin SPI interface?  Adding sonar to my pixhawk is my next project so hopefully somone has figured it out and posts more details soon. …"
