About Me:

Currently a Senior Electrical Engineering Student at the University of Central Florida. I started off building custom cars in high school, ran a machining a company for a little bit, co-founded a custom gaming console company, and now finishing my bachelors. I will soon be moving up to Indianapolis to work for Cummins Diesel Engines as a Hardware Controls Systems Engineer.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

About a year or two ago, I built my first robot for an event for a professional engineering fraternity I am apart of. I built several things after that and then it came time to decide on our Senior Design Project. We wanted something we could drive around but also fly. So we came up with the idea to build a Mobile Landing Platform with a Regenerative Power system for charging the quad while it lands. My main interest are in bringing more functionality to the UAV's and incorporating them into abstract things.

"We do have documentation from our conference paper, how would I post it here though?

The rover runs completely on it's own code that I wrote in Arduino and PIC32. All we have ArduRover for is position and being able to view it relative to the quad.…"

"We have the ideas and are fairly certain we can get it to essentially operate as an air-boat on the water. The issue now is just going to be funding and time. We could turn this thing into a whole lot more if we had the right funding and resources…"

"No she is not amphibious....yet. John thank you for those links, I actually had a really hard time trying to find other similar projects when we started this so it is nice to see other people are doing it as well! Ted, thank you. That thing took a…"

"You have hit the nail on the head. We wanted to do GPS, but when you combine the fact that (affordable) GPS is within 3 meters of accuracy, and you combine that with using GPS on not one, but two devices, you end up with a huge range of inaccuracy…"

"Mike, the charging time is kind of hard to say right now as we are still testing a lot of things. The Bedini Motor needs to run through an Acetone Bath to get all the smoothing correct and we are still testing the decrease in charging time using…"
