About Me:

For years I've had a UAV of some sorts on the drawing board. First it was a twin-boom AP platform and now it is an octocopter. Shame my job doesn't pay me enough to actually pursue the creation of said designs!

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

Evantually I want to build a fully autonomous UAV that will take off, perform a task, and then land again with no intervention from an operator. I'm interested in creating an automated AP rig that I can get into 3D photogrammetry with. Eventually a copy of the Leica Photogrammetry suite will be in my possession...as soon as I win the Lottery!

Bryan Buchorn commented on Matt Gunn's blog post How to trigger a Canon camera through an RC transmitter
"Matt-
Can you draw up a wiring diagram of how you made your trigger?  This looks like the most promising method, but I'm not entirely sure how you did it.  I don't want to fry any of my equipment so a schematic would be awesome!"

"Hunter-
Have you made any progress on this?  I'm still in study mode, so there isn't much thought going into much anything else at the moment, but I thought I would drop a quick note to see how things are going.

"BTW, by "Drones", I mean "UAVs".  I hate the term "Drones".  Know your audience."

Bryan Buchorn commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Senator Feinstein: "It should be a crime for a private individual to arm a drone."
"I would have to agree with Senator Feinstein as well. I believe it is already a crime due to the fact that it would be turning an otherwise semi-automatic weapon into an automatic weapon by attaching an actuator to the trigger.  Imagine how easy it…"

"I hope the rover makes it over to the US's Lunar lander site to finally shut the conspiracy theorists up about landing on the moon!"

Bryan Buchorn commented on Hunter Parris's blog post Overlaying GPS Coordinates for Camera Crosshairs
"I did notice the similarities...uncanny at first, but when I learned your background, is was obvious why.  As for LIDAR, that would be very cost prohibitive at this time, in my opinion.  I believe 3D photogrammetry would be a much better, cost…"
