"Just wondering, but how does it do when the wind gets going? I know that testing RTL with mine and the wind kicked up, it was all over the place, I had to switch it off in order to get it back under control.."
"Mike that's great to hear!!
I have to get more fine tuning with my quad hopefully tomorrow(too windy today), it's a little choppy only on decent no matter what I try"
"That looks like the same problem I had last week, I ended up having to disconnect power, then reconnecting and then I was fine, when that happened to me I was testing out RTL....."
"I've been going through ecalc today and I know it's not the written word, however I found a combination that looks interesting.
If I go with MT216-12 800kv motors and 9x4.7", it looks like I would get better performance, I can also go to 10" props…"
"I just got done with a couple more flights, it's doing pretty good, however I am noticing that wind starts to really mess with this quad unlike my others, I did try to fine tune it a little but didn't make much of a difference, of course I was…"
"I am thinking that if I had gotten a different 4 in 1 esc with the SimonK firmware I bet it would of been fine, I know these don't support the SimonK firmware so maybe that was the difference? If I was still having problems I was thinking about a…"
"It's possible, but with the weight of mine all loaded up being 5lbs it's doing pretty good. The only other thing you could do would be to get better motors and bigger props"
"The battery is from RMRC, it's actually a 5100mAh battery, I also have a 5.8 video tx and a small camera onboard. So far after about 3 additional flights I think it's safe to say the problem is solved."
"This morning I was able to get some fine tuning done, and I noticed that replacing the 4 in 1 esc with 20amp SimonK esc's from 3DR made all the difference. Autotune took less than 4 minutes, and after a total of 8 minutes of flight time the motors…"
"I would really like to see 3DR actually do that and see what they end up with for settings/recommendations. This thing weighs 5lbs with a 5100mAh LiPo battery and I would think something in the 700kv range for motors would work better with this setup"
