About Me:
I am an Engineering student at UBC in Vancouver. I was originally an Animal Biologist, but following my recent immersion into aerial photography and videography, I am now in pursuit of an Integrated Engineering degree (a mix of mechanical and electrical in my case, specializing in aerodesign and autonomous systems). It's a lot of school, but I have fun at the same time, perhaps too much fun... My AP interests derive from a background in photography: www.chrisborchert.com
Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
I have a Trex 600E aerial photography platform and I run a small AP business in Vancouver with a fellow student. We are just getting started now, but with much support from UBC and a handful of local businesses we are ready to start taking bigger steps. I am also a dedicated member of UBC's AeroDesign engineering student team. This year, I will be taking the lead on automated flight control for a UAV that we are building from the ground up to compete in the Unmanned Systems Canada competition next spring.
