"@Auturgy I guess so! I dont know of any larger ones flown with Arduplane!

@Gary the winner got a trip to Farnborough Airshow and a sweet flight jacket. I told them I'm a medium and I'll need that jacket for my trip to France!

@Rob I told them all…"

"Hey Tridge,

Excellent analysis, spot on with every assessment:

We would get a BAD AHRS message repeatedly, even after re calibrating the accel but only on the last day when we got to the field. We only had one day to fly and all other indicators…"

"And a good set of thumbs!  The pusher motor was certainly under powered, we couldn't keep the weight under 55lbs and get the CG right without switching to a smaller pusher motor. One of the drawbacks of this design is the large moment arm of the…"

"Hey Tridge, couldn't have done it without your contributions! The logs are posted here:

I recruited some reinforcements to help with tuning on the last two days. Couldn't have…"

"Basically they needed help, and I just repeated what I had already tried and had success with. Though it wasn't how I would have went about designing the aircraft, when I showed up a few weeks ago they were committed to it at that point. You can…"

"Thanks Tridge! Let me know if you have any experimental changes for the code, that's what this thing is for! It crashes really well so no worries if something doesn't work as expected. I certainly proved that with my regular fixed wing nano…"

"I think you could get a 1000mah or even 1400mah in there, but there are a few problems.  For one, its too nose heavy with anything larger than the 850mah. Second, the AUW is already at 610g when RMRC recommends under 375g for this platform. Not only…"

"Thats Cool, I always wanted to do a Talon Build. Nice work
I used two pixhawks Y'd together with a 9ch spektrum receiver with two PPM encoders. It was a huge mess! This was so I could control everything from my DX9. It had dual telemetry modules,…"

I made one like this 2 years ago. Decided X8 was the way to go because of prop clearance. "

"@ Rob - I still have yet to find time to build a pixhawk heli, but that work is very important. Once I get both pixhawks installed and get the plane portion flying in auto I will send you an email-"

"One Pixhawk is flying the X8, and the plane is flown manually. Step two is adding another Pixhawk for the plane, and step 3 is automating the transition from vertical take off to forward flight and back to vertical landing"

"Yes, they have a brake programmed and the Pixhawk is manually commanded to arm or disarm based on pilot discretion while in flight."
