Peter Dobber commented on Josip Nunth's blog post Boeing cargo Drone Prototype. Does this make sense?
"Hi Josip, you raise a good question. Do multicopters have size limit?
I believe they have. I started some 5 years ago with the looking into if you could scale up a quadcopter to carry a person. The answer to question was Yes, as you can see in this…"

Peter Dobber replied to Brad Hughey's discussion The Case for Large-Scale Electric Multicopters
"Rob and Gary,
It's a nice little chopper and an impressive video. Issue with all conventional helicopters is that they are difficult to pilot and very expensive to maintain.
Flying choppers like this will be a manual task for the foreseeable future.…"

Peter Dobber replied to Brad Hughey's discussion The Case for Large-Scale Electric Multicopters
"This thread that Brad started in 2012 remains very interesting! I notice that over the years I have come back various times.
I have build a "large scale electric multicopter" for personal flight and together with a small group of people are in the…"

Peter Dobber replied to Jim's discussion Manned drone project - interested?
"Thank you Paul. Weight of the batteries is a little over 25 pounds and flight time is limited to just several minutes. We build this model as a technology demonstrator. We learned a lot in the process and are using that for our new prototype that…"

Peter Dobber commented on Tiaan Roux's blog post ALTI Transition 6 hour VTOL cargo lifter
"John, I'm not to worried about the inertia of a 18" prop in relation to the weight and drag of the aircraft. I'm experimenting with a multicopter with 12  30" props and I'm having little issue with inertia. Even with payloads up to 80kg's. I do…"

"Jason,
With respect to your comments.
"First is safety. If you have an electrical failure or and IMU failure, or a glitch of some sort, there is no way possible, short of a parachute, to save yourself. You can't glide, you can't auto-rotate."=> The…"

No website yet. I do maintain a facebook page where I also follow fellow manned multicopter initiatives.
I also posted a link to a testflight with one of our Proof of Concept. The POC uses the same motor/prop combination that we'll use in…"

"Hello Guys,
I'm actually testing with a quadcopter with these motors. The motors work fine, but I have considerable problems with the ESCs I'm using. I would be interested to share information with other builders using these motors. Does anyone know…"
