About Me:

Coming up on my 50th anniversary of my first RC flight... I've flown just about everything from RC pattern, pylon racers, sailplanes, helicopters, aerotowing sailplanes... you name it.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

Transitioning from doing aerial photography with a conventional helicopter (Maxi Jokers, Vario Silence, and Logo 500) to multi-copters. I'm planning on getting a Cinestar 8, but in the meantime, I've acquired an Arducopter, and am trying to learn to program it.

"No luck with a JR R1221 either... in all cases, I can operate a servo plugged into an extra channel, so I don't think it is a radio binding issue... ?????"

"I'm moving forward... SLOWLY.  I got my Spektrum AR8000 receiver hooked up, and have my JR 11X bound to it.
With the four ESC controller leads disconnected, a 3 cell LiPo pack connected, the radio appears to be working (AT least I have control of a…"

"I have met the enemy and he is Me!.... I discovered that the USB cable that I was using was intended for charging purposes only, and has only the power connections... no data.
I went out and bought the correct cable, and Windows 7 immediately…"

But in the drop dwon that you show in your screen capture, only TCP and UDP show up...."

"While I'm asking Noobie questions....  I discovered the reference to the switch position under the "?" help tab.
I assume that this small, white switch should be towards the RC headers pins while I am trying to upload the Quadcopter firmware ?  In…"

"Thanks... It's an APM1... the speed is definitely at 115,500 (I'm not at the right computer at the moment, so that number may not be exact.)  The documentation says that the Port number is shown in Mission Planner, but I'm darned if I can see where…"

"The Mission Planner installer worked great for me.... and the USB interface is finding the Arducopter board, etc. on my brand new Windows 7 laptop, but I have run into a brick wall as far as going any further.  Is there someone that I could pay for…"
