Nothing too groundbreaking here other than the post production treatment.  Just a really fun use of quadcopters and sound effects for the holiday weekend.  A little stabilization and post work can go a long way on some GoPro footage.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I just wanted to share with you all the news that our video stabilization software is now live and ready for download! 

We set out a few years ago to transform the very time-consuming and difficult stabilization technique that I was developing into an automated piece of software.  To say it's been a lot of work would be a huge understatement.  But I must say I think it's been worth it.  

We feel that this will open up a huge range of possibilities for drones, as you'll no longer need to carry the weight of a brushless gimbal, the beefier motors to lift that heavy gimbal, and the heavy higher-voltage li-po to power those motors in order to get solid, smooth footage. 

Who knows, we might even see a renaissance of the servo gimbal!  If you take a look at our gallery page you can see the full before and after clips of many servo gimbal flights.

And we've got no doubt this is going to make drone races look that much more amazing.

I had not seen any other videos like this on the internet so I thought I would share. 

Pretty cool to see more than one employee smiling in a Chinese factory environment.

I wonder what the job title of the guy in the foreground is.

So I've built well over a dozen multicopters by now and surprisingly this little 30cm job has turned out to be the most fun out of all of them.  I always heard that 40-50cm sized frames were the magic number, but this lightweight 3cell setup has more pep and handling than anything else I've flown so far.  details here

I've been flying for about 7 years now and I think this has got to be my favorite place yet.

There are all kinds of cool rock formations to zoom around most of which can easily be climbed in case you need to retrieve a downed copter.

The color of the sand and rocks are more or less a middle grey which the gopro's auto exposure handles really well.

The color also makes finding a downed copter very easy.

There are no hard to see branches or power lines.

There's lots of detailed terrain to make fpv navigation easier.

Most mornings are a dead calm until about 8 or 9 am from  what I hear.

It's so quiet there that even if you get lost fpv flying you can echo-locate your way back home.  (I had to do that more than once)

Most of the time there is not another soul for miles.

And the park ranger I met was actually stoked that I was flying there!
